Energy Aboard
Energy aboard is vital, whether for cruises of a few hours, or (all the more so) when ocean cruising. But above all, it is essential to draw up a real energy balance sheet, to avoid having to start the generator or the engines for several hours a day, to recharge the batteries. How much will you consume over 24 hours, in the Atlantic? In the Mediterranean? In the West Indies? And above all, how are you going to make up for this consumption…Nowadays, the technical means available should allow you to be self-sufficient, or almost, and a modern cruising multihull should not be dependent on the shore supply at stopovers.
